This is currently on display in the new gallery at Maggiolly Art for the show “Interpretations” with the Orangeville Art Group. Again, I seem to find myself pushing the limits with colour. I have been using deep red backgrounds for a while but had not contemplated purple trees until I tried it on my previous painting Grounded. I had as much fun with purple rocks this time but I definitely needed the yellow to balance them. I have had interesting comments on this and I did not notice the number of faces (I can find six) that appear in the painting until the art show opening last week.
I have just updated another of my blog pages and you can access it here http://wadsworthsmithart.blogspot.ca/
